From Amazon readers:

“Having never read a book by author John Matthews before, I found myself eagerly and immediately drawn into the plot. There is never a dull sentence from beginning to end! The South Coast is a genuine thriller filled with intrigue, murder, mayhem, love, sex, dishonest politicians and exotic locales. The hero is a somewhat burned out federal agent who becomes embroiled in a huge plot that involves electronic espionage at the highest levels. The book is filled with action with very human touches. The plot is complex one with lots of layers and the author does a great job of moving us through it at a dizzying pace. Buy the book! You won’t regret it. I’m already looking forward to the next one!”

“John Matthew’s debut is a great read with a central character, Eddie Holland, that hopefully will stick around for many more installments. What I like about Matthews is that his story relies on a really nice mix of action plot, well defined characters, and vivid (and fun) settings. (It’s not all plot- or character-driven.) He definitely has a great sense of place (for example, Austin, Texas). It sort of reminded me of a Lawrence Sanders novel for the 2010s, in an era of security and high tech. A great read! Give us more!”

“Couldn’t put it down. Kept me turning pages quickly and feeling involved with the characters. Can’t wait to see what case Eddie gets involved with next.”

“Eddie is a fun character, dropped in the middle of a fast paced narrative. And I mean fast, this thing moves. From his short fuse sister, to a steady sidekick, South Coast goes down as smoothly as a Corona in a bar with a view of the Gulf. The settings in Washington and Texas are perfectly used and the down-to-earth Eddie makes for a believable character. Kept me on the edge, and kept me laughing throughout, I loved it.”

“The South Coast was a great read. It was fun and action packed, read easily, and was a perfect example of the type of detective novel I love to read. I can’t wait to read more from John Matthews, hopefully including these characters.”
